Happy birthday, A-Miao

You spend your days with an agent that never looks up. So I built you one that does — small, quiet, and yours, sitting at the edge of the screen while you work.

I made you a pet

It lives in your menu bar and keeps an eye on Claude Code. When Claude is thinking, it thinks. When something needs you, it turns and asks. Double-click it and you get a heart.

Before Claude Code connects it is grey and asleep — that is right, not broken. Colour means someone is there. What the ten states mean →

Three commands

Run them in Claude Code. It checks the signature on the download before anything is installed, then makes the pet do something so you can see it worked.

Then open a new Claude Code session

Hooks only load when a session starts, so the one you are in now will not see it. If the pet seems broken, this is almost always why.

There is also a by-hand install — use one way or the other, never both.
